I am a woodworker and woodcarver.  I designed this and many other woodworking mallets. They are designed in the way I would like to see mallets made if I were purchasing them -- I make them very strong and I try to make them visually appealing -- Something that would be attractive and a pleasure to work with.  They are 100% made with my own hands from start to finish (take a look at my many woodworking items for sale on Ebay).  This mallet is one of the larger sized ones I make. See the photos for exact measurements. I laminate every mallet I create.  That makes them solid and nearly indestructible. The mallet head is made up of American walnut and hard rock maple.  The handle is made of traditional hickory.  The first photos are of me cutting the blanks that make up this mallet.  Once glued up I turn them on my 50 year old lathe (still working like a charm).  They are sanded and finished with sealer to protect them for many many years.
