It optimizes harmonic voltage and current analysis measurement (2nd thru the 99th harmonic). For IEC 1000-3-2 and 1000-3-3 and related requirements, the D6100 also measures Harmonics and Flicker. This power meter is designed to be used in 1- to 3-phase power measurement applications. The DC-coupled measuring technique samples all channels simultaneously to offer a continuous frequency response from DC to 1MHz (bandwidth 2MHz). This measuring technique is used independently of the waveform. Furthermore, the modular design means that it can be adapted to present applications and possible future needs. In developing this analyzer, considerable attention was directed towards immunity to interference. The effective common-mode rejection of 135dB (for I) and 120dB (for U...RMS value of delta voltage of machine), measured at 100kHz! This is useful for checking frequency converters and also for fluorescent lights. Normally this dB reading is only given for 50 or 60Hz. For measurements with distorted waveforms or higher frequency signals with capacitive leakage currents, certain potential error sources must be considered. For example, the common-mode effect has to be considered especially at higher frequencies. This is provided by a sophisticated shielding and an additional input (GUARD). The noise immunity is also enhanced by the high voltage stability (up to 8kV, 1.2µs front time/50µs time to half-value = standard impulse). Voltages up to 2.5kV peak can be processed accurately. Currents are measured via triaxial shunts. Utilizing these symmetrical resistances the analyzer can be used for all frequencies from 0Hz to 1MHz with a very small phase error of 0.0003° at 60Hz with an amplitude accuracy of 0.02 %. The specific calibration data for each shunt is automatically read via an EEPROM. The transfer ratio of external converters for current and voltage can also be taken in account.
