Item recovered locally, semi tested, and sold AS IS for parts/repair. This auction is for a Tektronix TFP2 FiberMaster w/ Options 11, 16, OTDR Optics Module w/Case Fires Up. I don't know much about this kind of test equipment, but did try to do a few things with it to show it does fire up and does do some things. Comes with the Tektronix lid that goes over the screen and knobs to protect it when in transit. The handle can be moved and locked into different positions for varying degrees of readability. One side has the original metal push button missing (pic 7), but there is a stub still there that when pressed, will allow for the handle to be moved. I plugged it in and turned it on and it went through some tests, and I saw where it did pass some kind of test, and then went on to another screen. I did push a few buttons and took some shots of different screens that came up. The display is very colorful and sharp, so CRT is in great shape. I did push the HARD COPY button and it did print off the screen shot of the info I had up on the screen at the time. I did move the cursor at one point too. Sticker on the back says it has options 11 and 16. I believe the option 16 is the printer, but don't know what option 11 is at this time. It might be the OTDR Optics module, that is installed on the front panel, but I can't be for certain. This came in a very worn out soft case that is in sad shape, but it does hold the FiberMaster and keeps it in nicely. There is a zippered pouch on the top, and I opened it up and there were some fiber optic cables, original power cord, unused shoulder strap, which can be seen in the last picture. This did have a repair ticket on it that said "Doesn't Show Trace", so just wanted to let you know. I did take a picture of one screen and there was some kind of trace on the screen, but that might be a different thing altogether. All in all, it does seem to function somewhat and would be a nice item to use for parts and could possibly be fixed by the right person. The printer printed out fine and the screen display looked very nice, so could be a very nice item for a few good parts at the least. The printout had todays time of 15:25 and todays date of 2/14/2014 printed on the top of the printout. Says System T8.04E, Display G1.20A, Date 11/05/93. Other things on printout are "The internal printer is installed." and "There is a floppy disk drive installed". Can ship with printout so you can see it better. Might be running low on printer paper since there are red lines along the sides, which usually means end of roll. Pretty decent piece of equipment for the starting price.
