It attaches to the outside of a covered grill or any enclosed space. The heat that the burning process generates is carried away in the air, leaving just the smoke for hot or cold smoking. We designed a new lower lid for finer control of the smoke entering the cooking area, giving you just right amount of smoke. The only smoker of this type that DOES NOT require an air pump. We designed the Smokemiester without the use of a problematic aquarium pump. During development we tested various air pumps. Aquarium pumps are diaphragm vibrating type pumps, each time it vibrates it sucks in a little smoke, after a few uses the pumps stop working, we took them apart and found them full of creosote.  Self cleaning, NO power needed  Installation is quick & easy Takes NO Grill space, Ready to smoke in 5 minutes Add Hot or Cold smoke to your BBQ Smokes up to 7 hours on 4 cups of pellets Our smoker is made of iron, it is safe for food, we discarded aluminum because “Osha’s Occupational Safety and Health Guideline for Aluminum says contact between aluminum and combustible material should be avoided.”   INSTALLING YOUR SMOKER: You will need a 1 1/8" hole saw, or bit to drill a hole in your BBQ, below the burners, insert outlet tube and secure with nuts supplied. If the connection to the BBQ is on an angle, such as a kettle type BBQ, it can be installed with the addition of a 3/4" 45 degree pipe elbow and a short 3/4" nipple (not included). A vertical position of the smoker may be obtained by the angle of the 45 degree pipe elbow fitting. It’s that simple, your installation is complete.   CLEANING: Open top & bottom lids, put 3/4 cup of pellets in the smoker, with a propane torch light from the bottom until it flames, let burn until it goes out. When cool, pull screen and brush carbon residue from inside smoker and screen, clean with a small wire brush, that's it your done! "It really works! ROOSEVELT FROM FREDERICKSBURG, VA "The Perfect Smoker For My Grill!!!!!!! After looking at numerous smoke generators, I found the SmokeMiester. It appeared to be a very straight forward and easy product for making smoke for my grill. Plus, it is small and does not need any other source of power or air pump. It literally took less than 5 minutes to install the SmokeMiester. It is a very easy install. Since my Weber grill has a removable tray on the left, we decided to mount the SmokeMiester on the left side. We fired it up right away for a test run, and it made smoke - a LOT of smoke!!! This past Wednesday, I (once again) attempted my hand at smoking some salmon. The SmokeMiester worked PERFECTLY with lots of consistent smoke!
