This is two piece grommet die set for size #2 Stimpson grommets,with a nominal 5/16"I.D.  It is used to assemble a  grommet and washer combination.  It is a precision, heat treated, high quality, made in the USA tool set.  This is built for long life tool.  Do not confuse this product with cheap, soft steel, foreign knock-offs. This die set requires an application machine that accepts 3/8" diameter shanks.  It also requires that the material be pre-punched.  This it is not a a self piercing die set. If you are a hobbyist, purchase one of those cheap tool sets that  come with grommets supplied.  If you are in business and need a tool that will last for years, this is your ticket. One another note, this tool works on genuine Stimpson products.  There are lot's of  cheap knock-off grommets, but their manufacturers don't always maintain the same standards as Stimpson.  As their production tools gradually wear out, the parts they produce slowly drift away from the industry standard tolerances and may not perform as expected.
