The Piccolo Xpress chemistry analyzer is the only portable diagnostic device to offer a full complement of CLIA Waived blood chemistry tests at the point-of-care. With the Piccolo’s 12-minute test time, healthcare providers can diagnose and treat within the span of a single office visit, thereby increasing the efficiency of care, reducing costs, improving patient management and boosting revenues. The Piccolo® menu features 31 blood chemistry tests that range from liver, kidney and metabolic functions to lipids, electrolytes and other specialty analytes. These 31 tests are conveniently configured into 16 completely self-contained reagent discs, 11 of which are CLIA waived. Lab accurate blood chemistry analysis in real time The Piccolo Xpress is a portable clinical chemistry system designed for accurate, on-site patient testing. The Piccolo® allows healthcare providers to perform routine multi-chemistry panels using 0.1cc of whole blood, serum or plasma. The system uses patented reagent discs that contain up to 15 chemistry tests. Care providers simply pipette the sample into the disc, insert the disc into the analyzer and results are printed or transferred to an LIS/EMR in about 12 minutes. No operator intervention is required. The Piccolo Xpress employs on-board continuous intelligent Quality Control (iQC®) to monitor the analyzer, reagent reactions and sample to ensure the highest quality and accuracy in results. Three simple steps - Load sample, insert disc, read results Operating the Piccolo Xpress chemistry analyzer could not be any simpler. With just 100 microliters of whole blood, serum or plasma; the Piccolo® provides lab-accurate chemistry results in minutes. Using a series of disposable, single-use, all-inclusive reagent discs; care providers can diagnose, monitor and treat their patients more efficiently than through traditional reference laboratory means. Step 1: Add Sample Simply collect 0.1cc of whole blood, serum or plasma, and transfer it to the self-contained reagent disc. The single use, disposable disc contains all the reagents and diluent necessary to perform a complete fixed multi-test panel. Step 2: Insert Disc Follow the touch screen commands. Place the disc into the analyzer drawer, enter requested information and the Piccolo Xpress does the rest. In approximately 12 minutes, results are ready! Step 3: Read Results Complete panel results including patient demographics, chemistry concentrations, reference ranges, sample integrity indices and iQC® are available on the full color display, printed on a self-adhesive print out, transmitted to an external printer, computer or LIS/EMR system.
