You are bidding on large lot of Siemens EPD-1 Digital Alarming Dosimeters complete with workstation and some spares. These units will need to be modified by you to a different battery than the original (which is an easy modification for someone with electronic skills, it just takes some time). We will provide a handful of batteries and charger you can use and some instructions on making the conversion the way we did it. Once you have modified them, you can use the reader to set all the internal parameters such as uSv or mrem, alarm setpoints and such. Included with this sale are over 400 EPD-1 dosimeters that are used and stored in styrofoam sleeves with 5 each per pack. Each one must be modified to accept a new battery. The old one is no longer made and was way too expensive anyway. We converted some to use Erickson BST-38 cell phone batteries Lithium Polymer 3.6V and have a few batteries we will throw in along with a handful of universal 120V battery chargers. The batteries and chargers are essentially free for buying the units. You will need more. The main photo is a stock version. We have yellow and gray ones. None of the black. The second photo shows the battery and charger we used to get these things working. We are going to give you a handful of these. They are relatively inexpensive, on the order of $0.40 for the battery. Also included is the ACW workstation that will read the dosimeters and reset all the parameters. There is one working one that we have used, and two others as spares. We have a third one we will throw in that is much smaller. We also have a manual that will go with all this. This is a great way for someone to have a fleet of radiation detectors, or to modify them and sell them to preppers. We have sold these on ebay over the years, and are moving on to other things as we don't have time for these. The units are in good condition.
