However, it is recommended to delete each job once you have completed that job in order to keep the time it takes to acquire signal to a minimum. Q. How do I erase the memory on my Outback S-Lite? A: While in a guidance mode, press the Stop Guidance button, press the down arrow two times to and press enter. Q. Does the Outback S-Lite support RTK signal? A: No. Only the Outback S2 and S3 support RTK. Q: How do I set the Outback S-Lite to display ground speed? A: While in a guidance mode, press the down arrow twice to display the ground speed. Q: How long does it take the Outback S-Lite to attain a usable signal? A: It normally takes 1-3 minutes. The GPS signal will be acquired first displaying a yellow light. DGPS correction will then be acquired which illuminates a green light. For e-Dif, it takes 10 minutes to generate corrections. The vehicle can be in motion during this process, but will not be accurate until signals are acquired. If the Outback S-Lite seems to take longer than 1-3 minutes to attain a usable signal, the memory of the console may need to be deleted. Q: Does the Outback S-Lite use straight guidance only? A: No, the user may also use contour guidance. Contour guidance is a mode that allows the user to be guided based upon his/her previous pass. Q: Can I switch from Straight Guidance to Contour during the same job? A: The operator can switch back and forth between straight and contour modes. Since contour guidance follows the previous pass, it will attempt to follow the pass that was recorded in the job no matter if that pass was done in straight or contour mode. Q: Can the Outback S-Lite store a waypoint? A: A waypoint can be stored so the operator can guide back to that specific point. Its used primarily when a job is paused. For example, when stopping to refuel, the operator will pause the job, save the point, and return back to that point to resume. This can be done by pressing the button and using the RTRN PREV PT functions. Q: What electrical power do I need for the Outback S-Lite? A: A standard DC power supply between 9 and 16 volts is required. Current is less than 0.5 Amperes at 12 VDC. The unit will not be damaged by reverse polarity (positive to negative), but it will not operate. FYI: If your cigarette lighter is not available, connect to alternate power source. See your S-Lite guide for further instructions. Connection to an inline 5 amp fuse is required.
