The Vac-Pac is molded around a patient, then a suction line is attached to the special valve. As a vacuum is created, atmospheric pressure forces the beads together in the exact molded shape. When the suction line is disconnected, the Vac-Pac retains this molded shape. After surgery, the valve is opened and the Vac-Pac becomes soft, ready for use again.
