This vice may have been a watchmakers vice but since I bought it with other fly tying tools I believe it was always used to tie flies.  In the early days of fly tying that was probably their only choice of a tool to hold the hooks while tying.  (Carrie Stevens, noted fly tier from Maine, tied "in hand".   The vice is marked: WORTH RAY. GERMANY.  the spring is in good shape and is attached with two small rivets.  On another similar vice I have listed the spring is attached through the use of a dovetail. The vice is approximately 12"" long including the thumbscrew and weighs 1 lb. 7 oz.  it is in very good condition.  The vice joint is of the strong box design.  A very well crafted tool.   I have three other old fly tying vices listed.  Please take a look at them.  If you buy more than one I can combine shipping.   Domestic USA Shipping Only. International shipping via eBay global shipping program. Thanks for looking.
