Born in New London, she was the daughter of Rita (Lemieux) Giancola who is the host and owner of the "Christmas House" on Lexington St. in New Britain and the late Alfred L. Giancola. Debi was a former New Britain resident. She graduated from Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain. At the age of 19, her adventurous spirit called her to the sunny state of Calif, where she resided for 40 years. She worked as a hairdresser, and was loved by her clients of many years. She was also employed by Scripts Medical Center in San Diego, where her need to help others was fulfilled. Her vibrant personality was best exemplified in her love for her family, friends, and, in the true spirit of fun. The ever present (woo woo) was always heard at every gathering inspiring fun in all. In addition to her mother Rita Giancola, she is survived by a son Vincent Russo: a sister Janice (Giancola) Angel of Kensington; two brothers, Michael Giancola of New Britain, and Kevin Giancola of Canton, and many nieces and nephews. Though she will be greatly missed, we will all carry on her zest for life and her pursuit of "PEACE AND LOVE". A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
