Phenolic backed veneer = 1/16th"-1/25th" Application instructions come with all of our backed products and are simple and easy to follow. For our raw veneers or unbacked products, we advise consulting online resources to get advice on the best handling practices as opinions vary. Please note that pictures on our site showcase the veneer with its lower portion temporarily wet to show the grain's appearance once a finish is added. We have made color adjustments to ensure accuracy, but keep in mind that exact color matching is impossible in photos. Nonetheless, we make every effort to make it as accurate as possible. Paper-backed veneers = 1/40” Cutting: Finishing: Wood-backed veneers = 1/25” Maple wood veneer measuring 4" x 9" is offered with a high-quality laminate phenolic backing for a total thickness of 1/20th". The veneer itself boasts "A" grade quality and is sold individually. This backing is similar to Formica and similar products, but with actual wood on the front. Paper and wood-backed veneers typically require contact cement for application. Raw plain veneer, on the other hand, is best applied using white or yellow wood glue, with pressure applied for efficient drying. Application: Please note that some veneers may have minor splits or tears, which are typically repaired and should not impact overall quality or satisfaction. Additionally, some minor wood filler may be used to fill cracks and crevices, and sanding may be required before finishing. This is normal for natural products like wood veneers. Our veneers are generally cut using a razor/box knife or similar sharp tools and paired with straight edges for cleaner lines. Raw plain veneer with no backing = 1/32”-1/42” Disclaimer: Thickness: Most conventional finishing products can be used on our veneers when applied correctly.
