MALA Easy LocatorThe MALA Easy Locator is the standard Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) system for utility locate professionals worldwide. The system is priced well below other GPR systems and virtually redefines GPR for everyday locators that need to find non-metallic utilities and perform surveys for unknown buried objects and utilities. The Mala is capable of locating metallic objects, plastics, concrete, ceramics, asphalt composites, even void spaces or former excavations. The system is configurable for different soil types - enabling maximum performance. Typically Used For:Cable and utility locating - Utility Mark-out Underground tank locating - Septic Tank Field Location Treasure hunting Geological mapping - Bedrock, Groundwater (LNAPL), Sinkholes Archaeology Forensic investigations - Non-destructive The wheel height is adjustable to adapt to various terrains, and if necessary the Easy Locator can be pulled backwards to go over rough terrain or loose soils. This locator is efficiently packaged into a simple to handle and simple to use package containing; a battery storage compartment (with two batteries and two chargers), a monitor/computer, an analog to digital converter, a control unit (sending and receiving signals that are picked up by the antenna), an encoder (a built in measuring wheel), and the shallow (500 Mhz) antenna, on a four wheeled cart. The locator is compact and folds for easy loading into a car or trunk, no assembly or disassembly is typically required. The locator can accept an external GPS. The monitor/computer screen is a transreflective 10.4” TFT-LCD providing high visibility for outdoor use. It is weather resistant (IP 67 standard) to withstand rain and dust. Data is stored on the computer and can be downloaded via a USB port for further assessment. Mala Geosciences provides free updates to the on board software which is uploaded through the USB port. One of the batteries is in great condition, the other works but does not last quite as long. You can get 8 hours of operation using the two batteries. There are two chargers with this unit. An external GPS will be shipped with the system. If required, there are other antennas and accessories available from Mala Geoscience. NOTE: The batter housing cover (not shown in photo) will be sent with the unit.
