Veneers refers to thin slices of wood that typically are glued onto core panels to produce flat panels such as doors, tops and panels for cabinets, parquet floors and parts of furniture. The excellent joinery and precision sanding of Sheet Veneer ensures color consistency and superior finish. Engineered with a true cross-linking bond between the backer and the face, Sheet Veneer is available with paper, 3M pressure sensitive adhesive to true phenolic for the backer. FEATURES: Size: 4' x 8' Backer: Paper Color: Mahogany Color Character: The heartwood varies from a pale red to dark reddish-brown in heavier timber, while the sapwood is yellowish-white. Genuine Mahogany originates from Central America and the upper regions of the Amazon River. It is one of the most well known woods and its use in cabinetry and furniture dates back to the 16th century. Veneer Cut: Plain Sliced - The half log, of flitch, is mounted with the heart side flat against the guide plate of the slicer and the slicing is done parallel to a line through the center of the log.
