I do not know what strength the magnifier is, but seems pretty strong to me. The red base I believe is cast iron. Magnet sticks. It has 3 compartments. Very unique. You could store pens, paperclips etc in there. Or if you use it for repairing or craft maybe screws, beads and so on. This way they wont roll of the table. The arm is metal and measures approx 30" in length. The shade is plastic. Has a lid to protect the glass. I see no makers name. Bottom of arm has a UL sticker on one side and the other side has letters and numbers. Look at the bottom of the arm with the zoom feature in pic number 6. Base measures about 9" x 7-1/2" and shade 8-3/4" x 6-1/2". The glass measures 3-3/4" in diameter. Weight unpacked is 10 lbs 9 ounces. Lamp is undamaged with some scuffs and scratches. There are a couple of paint splatters and needs some cleaning. The UL sticker is also marked 4/99. Lamp might be from that year. PLEASE READ BELOW I LOVE TO MAIL OVERSEAS. HOWEVER, EVERY TIME I DO MY 5 STAR RATING GOES WAY DOWN FOR SHIPPING IF THE OVERSEAS WINNER LEAVES ME FEEDBACK. I AM PRETTY GOOD AT ESTIMATING SHIPPING COST, BUT EBAY HAS CONTROL OVER THE OVERSEAS SHIPPING NOW AND I CAN NOT MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS. IT ALSO COSTS EXTRA TO MAIL IT TO THEIR SHIPPING CENTER 1ST IN THE US WHERE THEY ONLY THEN SHIP IT OUT TO ITS FINAL DESTINATION. OVERSEAS SHIPPING THESE DAYS IS QUITE EXPENSIVE NO MATTER WHAT.
