Unit was removed from a cryo chamber and can be used as a tabletop unit or to replace a microtome in a chamber setup. All microtome knives are free from nicks. "This is a Lipshaw Manufacturing Company microtome. This device is used make very thin slices of samples to use in slides for electron microscopes. We got this one from a Texas A&M University auction. When you crank the handle the top of the unit oscillates up and down. There is another crank that can be used to adjust thickness from 0-30 microns. It appears to be in good condition, but we have no experience operating this type of lab equipment to test it further.
