This is a big fast PMT that was a spare part for a high speed liquid scintillation detector. It has a lower meg ohm range VD chain for higher speed detection compared to the 80-100meg chain for typical survey instruments. It has a spare socket so making your own high meg voltage divider would be trivial, just get yourself a bunch of 10 meg resistors and some 4.7 to 10nF at 1kV capacitors. (This tube does not NEED capacitors though adding them will help it register better at higher counting rates). It accepts a standard 1 inch scintillation crystal, or bigger one with a TIR light pipe. Would be a nice choice for a paint can scintillator build. If you need more details, just send me a message. This item is extremely hard to find.
