A Miniphase converter is ideal for single- motor equipment, such as milling machines, saws, grinders, drills and many other loads (1). Plus, you get the same engineered quality, operating capability, attentive service, and thorough documentation that have made Phasemaster rotary converters the industry leader in phase conversion. (1) A static phase converter is not suitable for heaters, resistance or rectifier loads. Further it is not recommended for two-speed motors, pumps, fans, refrigeration equipment or multiple motor applications where more than one motor will be operated simultaneously. For these loads, we recommend the Phasemaster rotary converter. Ratings The Type MP Miniphase static phase converter is designed to operate lightly-loaded single motor machinery from 1/4 to 10 HP. The Miniphase converter will operate 208-240 volt, 3-phase machines from a 208 or 240 volt 1-phase input at 50 or 60Hz. It is not designed for 460 volt operation. Consult Kay Industries for 208 volt applications when input voltage is 240 or where 208 volt, 4-wire output is required. It will not help. • Load should not exceed 85% of rated motor HP • Always start machinery unloaded if possible • Consult factory on U-frame motor applications • Use the heavy duty Miniphase for 3600 RPM motors or hard starting loads. • Do not use Miniphase on loads which average more than 6 starts per hour.
