This manual dates from the late 1940's, a time when the world had not yet fallen in love with Styrene and other plastics!, when things were actually made of metal.  Die casting was the old time substitute for plastic and because it was metal a lot of things made back then were actually expected to last!  The machine described in this manual is a 100 ton high speed molding machine that made metal parts in precision steel dies much the same way that plastic parts are made today.  In it's heyday, injection molding machine like this made everything from household product to electric drills, carburetor housings and fuel pump housings for autos, alarm clocks, gears for machines and tools, toys, fishing reel parts....  The list goes on and on.  The manual covers a specific brand, HPM, and a specific model, 100 Ton (that is the closing force of the die, not the machine weight).  It starts out with specifications and installation instructions, goes into operating procedures and finishes up with maintenance and finally a parts breakdown.  Good info if you want to know how these machines were built and how they worked or if you are trying to keep one running today.  Note that several large format blueprints were also scanned in this file, these are tiled in 8 1/2 x 11 format and there are assembly instructions included with the scanned blueprint files explaining how to splice the tiles together.  Manual is in PDF format, you may print any or all pages, read it on your computer or other electronic device...  Great info!     Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool.
