Additionally you can use a library of pre configured unitary controllers, macros, and standard plants to speed up the engineering process. You can create a model of your facility. A facility model describes the physical layout of a building and illustrates the hierarchy between the physical locations. You can create plant system model that represent the HVAC system of the building. The facility and plant system model can be associated and downloaded to the ComfortPoint Open Manager. ComfortPoint Open configures, control, and monitor the HVAC plant system in the facility. It provides solution to BACnet controllers and third party controllers. ComfortPoint Open provides two Windows based applications. • ComfortPoint Open Studio, used to create logical controllers, plants, datapoints, control logic, plant systems, facilities, download the configuration setting to controllers and ComfortPoint Open Manager. • ComfortPoint Open Online, used to perform online operations such as uploading and downloading files, monitoring datapoints, licensing PDA device, and performing VAV balancing. It is mostly used in commissioning phase of a project when ComfortPoint Open Manager server and remote clients are not available on the network to monitor the status of points and devices. The ComfortPoint Open supports the following controllers: • CPO-PC-6A: This is an IP BACnet based controller. • CP-VAV: This is an MSTP BACnet based controller used for VAV applications. • CPO-VAV2A: This is an MSTP based native BACnet controller with integrated actuator which can be used for zone control application in HVAC control system. • CP-SPC: This is an MSTP BACnet based controller used for FCU and AHU applications. • CP-DIO: This is an MSTP BACnet based controller used for lighting applications. • CPO-DIO: This is an MSTP BACnet based controller used for small applications. • CPO-FCU: This is an MSTP BACnet based controller used for FCU applications. • CP-IPC: This is an IP based BACnet controller with built-in router for the MSTP to IP communications. • CP-Core: This is an IP based BACnet controller with built-in router for MSTP to IP communications, which does not include physical I/O points. CPO-PC-6A controller connects to the TCP/IP LAN and uses the BACnet IP protocol to communicate with ComfortPoint Open Manager. CPO-PC-6A has three MSTP channels. A maximum of thirty devices can be added to the MSTP channels. The BACnet MSTP devices are CP-VAV, CPO-VAV2A, CP-SPC and CP-DIO, which are used for VAV, FCU, AHU control, and lighting applications. CPO-PC-6A can have one or more MSTP channels configured as Modbus, Field bus and Panelbus. Each Modbus channel can support up to thirty Modbus devices.
