This is a complete basic HP-5528A measurement system including (1) 5518A laser, (1) 5508A measurement display, (1) 3 meter 10793A laser head cable, (1) 10702/3A Linear Interferometer on mount, (1) 10703A retro-reflector (cube-corner). The Hewlett Packard (HP) 5518A laser head (transducer) is very good condition with a measured output power after warmup when locked (READY solid) of more than 325 µW and REF frequency of around 2.12 MHz. It locks normally with clean REF and MEAS signals, and has been tested fully by Laser Sam of Sam's Laser FAQ in a monitored interferometer setup for at least 8 hours. The rear height adjuster will be included upon request (not shown). The 5508A is also in very good cosmetic and functional condition and has also been extensively tested in a displacement measuring interferometer. I am unable to test the environmental compensation but will guarantee those functions to be operational. It is complete with carrying handle, original feet, and all trim pieces. The 10702A Linear Interferometer (including 10703A) and 10703A remote retro-reflector (cube-corner) are in excellent condition. The 10703A is on the 10711A (or equivalent) adjustable mount. (The actual optics may be the functionally and physically identical Zygo equivalents for the Linear Interferometer and retro-reflector.). The photos above are of typical components but the actual system for sale is very similar. As can be seen, the components are in very good cosmetic condition, showing at most minor scratches and/or dings from normal wear. IMPORTANT: As with all lasers of this type, life expectancy cannot be predicted with certainty, but based on the output power and REF values, it isn't going to fail quickly. However, this system is NOT recommended for use in a production environment, but would be a great laser for research, education, or experimentation. There is NO international shipping for this system, sorry. Too many things can go wrong both in shipping and setup. If you really have your heart set on something like, there may be something that can be worked out, so contact me. Best is to have me ship it to a USA address for you to forward. The eBay Global Shipping Program may be too expensive. A 10706A (including 2x10703A and 1x10722A) Plane Mirror Interferometer along with planar mirror on tip-tilt mount may be substituted for an additional $100. An HP hard shell case for the 5508A ONLY is available for an additional $100. Additional components (like a longer cable and other optics) may also be available. The system will be thoroughly tested prior to shipping and comes with a 30 day warranty (see terms below). An extended warranty may be available, inquire for details.
