Heron Instruments Little Dipper Water Level Indicator - Well Tape Ground Water 60 Feet of Well Tape - Comes with Bag - Good Working Condition The little dipper: The little dipper is a small, back pack sized water level indicator used for measuring the depth of water in wells, boreholes and standpipes. The little dipper will signal water with a bright LED light and solid buzzer tone allowing the user to make water level measurements accurate to 1/100th ft or to each millimeter. The little dipper signals when contact is made with water, the water shorts the probe tip and body to complete a circuit. There is no on/off switch. The switch is the water. Little Dipper Tape Specifications: The little dipper uses the premium high tensile steel, easy read yellow tape jacketed in clear polyethylene. This accurate high strength engineering grade tape is manufactured to the ASME standard of accuracy. The flexible tape winds smoothly onto the tough nylon reel while the dog-bone cross section prevents the tape from sticking to wet surfaces and well casings. The little dipper tape is marked to engineering scale: Feet and tenths with markings every 1/100ft and Meters and Centimeters with markings every mm. Little dipper Electronic Module Specifications: The little dipper includes a fully potted, fully field removable electronic module. The super bright red LED and buzzer are housed inside this water tight module. The sensitivity dial on the little dipper allows false signals from cascading water to be tuned out enabling the most accurate readings possible. The electronic circuit converts the DC battery current to an alternating current; this prevents corrosion and mineral build up on the probe. The little dipper works on one 9 volt battery in an easy access battery drawer mounted on the front of the module. Little dipper Probe Specifications: The little dipper comes with a standard 5/8 inch (16mm) diameter fully submersible, leak proof probe. The little dipper probe has been specially designed for easy cleaning by removing any holes and recesses that would allow for the build up of contaminates. The stainless steel probe is 4 inches (100mm) in length and is attached to the tape using a flexible linking device that allows the tape and probe to be protected at this vital junction. little dipper Reel Specifications: The little dipper is a hand held unit designed for easy portability, fitting perfectly into a back pack. The soft easy grip carry handle is ergonomically designed for comfort and easier rewinding. The reel flanges and center hub are molded from high strength nylon turning on a stainless steel axle allowing the smooth running of tape up and down the well or borehole.
