Shell marble was first in France at the end of the 18th century. This pattern is also called "french shell" marble, marbre cailloute agate, ringader marmor and vogelaugen marmor. Paper marbling is a method of aqueous surface design, which can produce patterns similar to marble or other stone, hence the name. The patterns are the result of color (gouache) floated on plain water, and then carefully transferred to a sheet of paper. Marbled paper, as a decorative material has been used to cover a variety of surfaces for several centuries. It is often employed as a writing surface for calligraphy, and especially book covers and endpapers in bookbinding and stationery. But could be used for origami, collage, framing, tag creation, ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions and Originals), greeting cards, invitations and home decor items. Part of its appeal is that every sheet is different, One Of A Kind, as only one sheet can be made each time. About 13x8 cm (5x3 in) fragment, enlarged. All the papers are rolled up into a cardboard tube. Once the papers received, it's very easy and fast to make them flat again, but where do you keep it safe? Your papers will be sent inside this (reusable and recyclable) tube for not only safe shipping, but also safe and simple storing with almost zero footprint on your shelf.
