Manufacturer: Giddings & Lewis Measurement Systems G&L Condition: For Parts or Not Working. This CMM is in Good cosmetic condition with (normal) minor blemishes from prior use. There is flash rust on the original surface and scratching on the optical table. There are minor scuffs/scratches/label residues on the rest of the machine, and dust in the nooks and crannies. Two of the motors are missing their covers, but the covers on the linear ways are in good condition. Notes: This CMM is in at-least PARTIAL working condition. We are not machinists nor familiar with operation of this type of equipment. We were able to get the probe to move in all 3 axes, but only in one direction each. Using the joystick, we got the head to move up, left, and back - it would not move down, right, or forward. We are not sure why, or if this is normal. We could not figure out how to control the machine with the computer software. When the probe tip is touched, it beeps and the red light goes out until the probe tip is allowed to re-center itself. The printer powers on. When the computer is cold-booted, it gives a CMOS error and the CMOS battery is probably bad. No other testing was done. No manuals, cords/cables, or additional items are included if not listed or shown.
