• This is Out of Service hose that was 1.5 inch ID single jacket wild land fire hose. It is light-weight, easy to handle and can be used for lining boat docks or other bumper guard type of applications. Because it is single jacket and easy to fold and sew, yet sturdy and durable, it is also highly sought after for repurposing into apparel items such as wallets, backpacks, suspenders, belts, tool holders, etc. • This hose is yellow, although it is stained and battle scarred from fire service use. (see photos). • On all this hose, one side is a solid color and the other side has red and black stripes (see photos). • The inside diameter (size of the hole) of the hose when it is "rounded" is 1.5 inches. That means you can fit it over something about 1.375" and smaller. You cannot fit it over something that is also 1.5 inches because that is "same size." (See photos showing this hose pulled over a 1.0 inch PVC pipe, which is a good easy fit, not too tight and not too loose). • When flat the width of the hose is 2-1/2 inches wide. • This is “lay flat” style hose that is between 3/16 to 5/32 inch think on the side edges (see photos). • Each has been cut to lengths that are up to several inches over 12 feet long (some are 12-1/2 ft). • To reduce the weight and size for the cheapest shipping cost, all the couplings have been removed. • The outside jacket material is Single Jacket Polyester. • The inside lining is a clear, thin plastic (not the black rubber used in most double jacket hose). It can be easily cut, stapled or sown right through. Note: recently we had an inquiry asking if the inside clear lining can be removed from the outside jacket material. The answer is NO. The materials are affixed together with an industrial glue and heat pressed, and almost impossible to separate. However the inside is very thin and clear and most people will not know it is there from the other side. It serves to add strength and keep water or any liquid from penetrating through the material. • This hose can be easily and quickly cut with a hack saw or heavy duty utility knife. It can easily be nailed or screwed onto most surfaces. The shipping is a fixed price for one roll.
