Fibrous casings are manufactured by forming a specially produced paper into a continuous tube which is then coated with regenerated cellulose. These casings are permeable membranes that allow the passage of moisture, air and smoke. High mechanical strength combined with uniform size and excellent permeability give optimum results and premuim quality products. Fibrous casings are packed in a variety of formats, designed to protect the product until it is ready for use. The product should be stored in a cool, dry place. (50-70 F) Dry fibrous casings should be soaked for at least 90 minutes in warm water (90-100 F) before use. Casings are manufactured to a recommended stuffing diameter.
