IT HAS A ROLLER TOP ON IT. YOU CAN TAKE THE ROLLER TOP OFF IF YOU WANT. I PLUGGED IT IN AND IT GOES THROUGH A STARTUP AND HAS ALL 8'S ON THE SCREEN. I PRESSED THE 0 BUTTON AND IT ZEROES OUT. I WEIGHTED SOMETHING AND IT WORKS. IT HAS AN RS232 SERIAL PORT CONNECTOR ON THE UNIT. I NOTICED THOSE LITTLE PLASTIC KEEPERS THAT HOLD THE CORD ON THE BOTTOM OF THE UNIT, IT LOOKS LIKE THAT LITTLE KEEPER IS MISSING.
