Eberline E-520 with HP-270 "Hotdog" energy compensated Geiger-Mueller (GM) probe and SK-1 speaker with cable.  This is the industry standard for radioactive material shipping and will work for you in most any application including personal security after a nuclear event.  We have a unit without SK-1 speaker in another listing for $375 each. The meter and probe have BNC connectors.  The SK-1 speaker lets you survey quickly and tell by sound when you pass an elevated radiation area.  When you hear the clicks go faster, slow down and let the meter stabilize to determine the reading.  You don't need a speaker to use this meter and probe but it makes surveying more efficient.  You could get a set of headphones too with a BNC connector.   There is a HP-270 held on by the Probe clip.  This probe is an energy compensated GM detector and is the industry standard for performing radiactive material shipments.  This way everyone has the same detection efficiency.  You cannot adjust the high voltage on these.  They will only drive GM probes.  We offer a 30 day unconditional warrantee.
