E-Scope, Electronic Stethoscope (Hearing-Impaired Model ) This Electronic Stethoscope works very well and is practically new. It was never used. My wife is hearing impaired and attended Medical Assistant school. I had hoped to set her up to replace the headphones by directly plugging into her hearing aids. She was not able to use it. This comes complete with nice (not cheap) headphones, accessory pak of tips and a case. Only thing missing is the owners pamphlet. But you should be able to download from the Cardionic web site. But also it is easy to use so I doubt you really need he little booklet. This device cost us between $500 and $600 new. Below is the narrative from the Cardionic web site. Catalog #: 718-7710 Technical Support: Unlimited The E-Scope Hearing Impaired Model is an electronic stethoscope which amplifies 30 times louder than an acoustic scope. The E-Scope has a heart/breath sound control filter switch which allows the user to concentrate on a particular sound within a specific range. The control buttons are conveniently located on the head of the stethoscope (pictured) which is supplied with a Specialist Adult Diaphragm. The E-Scope is designed to remain at the same volume setting each time you power on and has 64 possible volume positions with the maximum output of 125 dB, undistorted. Cardionics Traditional-style Headphones (718-0405), Convertible-style Headphones (718-0415) or the Large Over-Ear Headphones (718-0408) will all work on this E-Scope. Using the 3.5mm (1/8”) mono-sound output jack on the top of the E-Scope the user connects headphones; allowing for the lower-frequency sounds to be translated to the listener.* Another option is using the E-Scope Cable for Cochlear Implants (711-7129) which connects via the side output jack to allow listening with an ICOM device. Major features Battery operated- Powered by a single “AAA” battery which will last about 4-6 months with regular use. The E-Scope has an automatic timer which will power off to conserve the battery.
