This model is the ideal machine for a fabrication facility looking for a quick and profitable solution handling all aspects of the product development process. As one of the last models produced just before the adoption of the cumbersome and often distracting safety mat systems (still available if desired) The 240 provides users with the ability for intimate interaction with the machining process. Our shop uses multiple machines , but due to this user friendly feature the 240 is almost always chosen for prototyping, process development and tricky machining situations. The operator has complete control during the machining and CAM development of any program. The diversity of the flatbed vacuum table with twin zone functionality offers the creation of limitless hold down and jig systems to develop rapid and profitable production cycles. Pendulum operation is available to allow virtually constant machining as the operator can be cleaning / unloading /reloading one end while actively machining on the other end. 5 feet wide x 10 feet long means almost any material is going to be within range. Plenty of z axis movement to handle thick parts, stacks, and diverse machinability / drilling operations from all sides. Handy ride along boring/drilling unit eliminates time costing tool changes and provides horizontal x/y machining. The 240 also takes it's 12 tool automatic tool changer along with it as it performs. This makes any tool changing much faster while eliminating unnecessary travel time and machine wear As far as quality goes, these machines were also built just before cost cutting practices eliminated the super solid super rigid steel construction that makes this model a renown workhorse. Rigidity and vibration free machining is what separates the field between low cost cnc machines which look great but fall short when it comes to making money on high volume precision fabrication. Ideal for all wood working . Ideal for hard and soft plastics, even clear acrylic with clean edges. Aluminum and non ferrous metals are easily machined as well.
