This resistance/capacitance bridge was built under contract for the Navy. I've labeled it parts/nonworking, but it may in fact be in working condition. I'm not going to find out by plugging it in.  No gear this old should be plugged in and tested without replacing all electrolytic and paper capacitors, checking the condition of the power cord and other wiring, and so on. I have too many other restoration projects to start on this one.  It's pretty clean inside, however, with no charred resistors or obviously leaking caps. The cloth-covered power cord is in surprisingly good shape. So the odds of a successful restoration look excellent. As for the outside, there are no dents in metal case. The latches work; the handle and ID plate are missing. All knobs are the originals and intact except that the acrylic or celluloid pointer on on the main knob deformed and broke off.  This is a given with this model. Another unit up for auction shows a pointer in very bad condition, and another owner of three of these has told me two of the three have the same problem. I will include the pieces and the original knob if you care to fashion a replacement, along with a nice knob with a smaller pointer, as shown in a photo. A stupid owner (me) started to clean the front panel with alcohol and wiped away portions of the markings. I stopped before inflicting major damage. It's easy to interpolate the markings. Tubes: 6SJ7, 6E5, 5U4. Operating instructions are on the inside of the top cover. Apparently there was never a manual. Shipping weight will be approximately 20 pounds--do not rely on the shipping calculator. Local pickup in the Washington, D.C., area is welcome.
