Emergency Power Transfer System:New in Box: How The Emergency Power Transfer System Works: The emergency power transfer system allows you to use your portable generator as a back-up power source.  It eliminates hazardous extension cords running through open doors and windows, prevents dangerous backfeed to utility lines and conforms to local electric codes. This power cord, included with the system, connects your portable generator to the power inlet box which is mounted to your homes exterior.  This is wired to the manual transfer switch which must be installed near your circuit breaker panel.  Wattmeters and switches for individual circuits are in the manual transfer system.
