Branson/Amtech Dual Support Actuator Ultrasonic Welder System 800 W 40 kHz Includes Mechanical actuator Ultrasonic stack assembly Touchscreen weld controller Application tooling Connecting cables Custom mechanical actuator mounting plate Tool Pouch with two pin spanner wrenches for actuator adjustment User Manuals Ultrasonic metal welding is among the most advanced methods for bonding conductive metals such as aluminum, copper, and brass. AmTech has pioneered the development of high quality welders that offer manufacturers fast, clean and reliable component assembly for a variety of products ranging from wire terminations to solar panels. With cycle times of under one second and AmTech’s intelligent process controls, productivity and quality are maximized. Click Here to Download More Info on Ultrasonic Welding Mechanical Actuator and Ultrasonic Stack Assembly The mechanical actuator is the system that rigidly holds and moves the ultrasonic stack assembly into contact with the material to be welded. A pneumatic cylinder drives the actuator to apply a precise pressure to the parts to be welded during the weld cycle. The ultrasonic stack assembly includes the converter, booster, and horn assembly. The 40 kHz electrical energy from the power supply is applied to the transducer element or converter, which transforms the high frequency electric current into high frequency mechanical vibrations at the same frequency. A booster couples the converter to the horn assembly and increases the amplitude of vibration produced at the face of the horn. The horn assembly is a full-wave length resonant metal device that transfers the ultrasonic vibrations from the booster to the integral welding tip at the end of the horn. Application Tooling Application tooling includes the horn assembly, anvil and anvil support. The horn is double sided with a welding tip formed on each side. When a tip wears out, the horn position is reversed and the other welding tip used. The unit powers the ultrasonic stack assembly and controls the welding operation and mechanical actuator. Welding functions and parameters are programmed into the power supply/controller via the touchscreen.
