All I/O pins are connected to goldpin headers except for those connected to the quartz resonator, while the module also has a pull-up resistor RESET to 5V. The ATmega8 microcontroller has 8kB Flash program memory, 512kB EEPROM memory, and 1kB SRAM data memory, along with two 8-bit Timer/Counters, one 16-bit Timer/Counter, and a 10-bit 8-channel analog-to-digital converter. Interfaces include SPI, UART, TWI (I2C), and an analog comparator, with three channels of PWM. The module is designed with a number of features, including the ATmega8A-AU microcontroller with programming ISP and an integrated voltage regulator of up to 0.5A. Power supply filtering is included by capacitors for microcontroller power and additional filtering by a ferrite bead for analog power. The module can operate on a power supply range of 7-12V and comes with a power indicator LED. The MicroBoard-M8 features the ATmega8 microcontroller and includes an integrated 5V stabilizer, quartz resonator, and internal oscillator for a 12MHz frequency. The IDC-10 connector is compatible with most available programmers, making it easy to program in languages like C and BASCOM.
