Antique or Vintage Broad Hewing Axe or Hatchet marked on the blade but currently not legible - and also marked with the number 4 on one side - with 5 7/8" blade edge and the head is 7 3/4" across - in total it weighs just over 3 1/2 lbs. with what appears to be the original hickory handle - it does have some pitting throughout but has been well maintained throughout the years - there is some chipping to the leading edge but this is ready to be hand sharpened and be a trusted lifelong forestry or woodsman tool - the head is tight and ready to go it just needs to be sharpened, a great old tool marked and possibly a Plumb Kelly or other fine maker but currently the maker is not legible - a great old hatchet or axe for collectors or to put to use again right away Please check the pictures carefully for the exact age and condition Thank you for looking and Shipping is Free in the U.S.A.
