They're kind of grimy on the outside, but pretty clean on the inside. I don't know the condition of the filter cartridges, so plan on having to replace them. The CO sensors are working at the moment, but are not guaranteed. Some of the units have stretched lid gaskets, as well. If the monitor is powered by the optional 120 VAC adapter, the Intrinsically Safe Certification is voided. The Intrinsically Safe Certification is also voided when the remote alarm is used.
