Here is my NEMA 10-30P to 6-50R welding plug adaptor. It allows you to plug a welding machine or plasma cutter with a 6-50 plug into an old 3 prong style clothes dryer outlet. The cord is about 20 feet long, it is a "10ga" cord. This item is made with a New clothes dryer cord and new surface mount 6-50 welder receptacle. Picture 1 and 2 are example pictures. The item will have that surface mount receptacle in the picture, but a different style of plug, but functionally the same, it will be the same type as pictured and have a black round cord, not 3 flat gray wires. The metal housing to the plug is ground. The 6-50 ground is ran on the 10-30 cords neutral/ground. It is only intended for indoor use in dry locations. Do not use NEMA 6-50 series on machines that use line to neutral/ground power for lights or fans. Do not use this adaptor on anyting that uses line to neutral power like clothes dryer or electric range. Any machine like a welder or plasma cutter that came with a NEMA 6-50 cord from the factory does not use line to neutral power line to ground power unless there is a short cirucit or falut with the machine. If you want to plug your welding machine into a clothes dryer outlet, because that's all you have and you flip your 30 amp clothes dryer breaker absolutely under no circumstances should you remove the 30 amp clothes dryer breaker and install a higher amp breaker. The circuit breaker is there to protect the wiring inside the walls. If your welding machine is flipping the breaker, that's because its doing its job and you need to turn the machine down. Item has been tested. I plugged this adaptor into my testing rig and used it to power my clothes dryer (something you absolutely should not do) and air compressor, it had 25 amps flowing through it almost constantly then 35 amps flowing through it for a few minutes as the air compressor and dryer ran together and showed no signs of heating up.
