3/4" x 500' PEX-AL PEX Tubing Radiant Floor Heat Pipe PEX-AL PEX is a multilayer cross-linked polyethylene tubing with an aluminum core. Used for radiant floor heating and snow melting applications. The aluminum core acts as an oxygen diffusion barrier that prevents oxygen from entering the tubing and subsequently corroding any ferrous parts of your system. The aluminum core also allows PEX-AL PEX to hold its shape when bending so it doesn't have to be tied down every foot like traditional PEX tubing. It is also better suited to high temperature applications like baseboards and fan coils because the aluminum core allows the tubing to maintain its shape better, having a lower linear expansion rate than regular PEX or copper.
