Take a few minute to read below below Traffic Pro Hardware consists of the Event Logger and a range of Sensors (shown below) to provide the most robust people counting system on the market. Event Logger - 400 & 800, 410 & 810 (IP Ready) Event Loggers come with 4 or 8 channels that can accommodate the various types of sensors including Beonic's exclusive bi-directional sensors. It has memory to record and store hour-by-hour data from up to 8 independent sensors. Event Loggers can be daisy-chained to add additional doors or entry points into the system. This unit can be used with either the Traffic Pro or Traffic Insight software. The release of "IP Ready" Event Logger gives extra flexibility with data connectivity. You are able to plug the event logger into any LAN or WAN and transfer data directly over your current network structure (*Only with Enterprise Software). The sensors are either designed, manufactured or tested at Beonic and we know from experience that the sensors we stock are accurate, reliable and robust. The selection of sensors available will cover most types of doors and entry points. We can supply sensors that can perform reflex, through-beam, bi-directional, proximity and thermal counting. Various face plates for the sensors are available to give a professional finish and a non-obtrusive look. The New Thermal Sensor (shown to the right) is installed in the ceiling overhead which removes the ablility to block the sensor and has proven to provide the most accurate form of peolple counting in the world today. The ceiling mounted sensors use an Active Infra-Red (IR) system to detect the heat of people passing underneath the sensor.  The sensors see a square on the floor approximately the same size as the height of the unit.  They track all movement of body heat through this space. The sensors have a flexible counting zone that can be easily changed to maximise the counting accuracy of the entry. Software Traffic Pro Enterprise Traffic Pro Enterprise is the top level of the Traffic Pro software suite.  It is typically used in environments that have a large number of entries or that have multiple sites connecting back to a head office system. Traffic Pro Enterprise has advanced, consolidated hourly, daily, weekly and yearly graphs and reports for one or multiple, remote locations. Traffic Pro Enterprise is also able to inmport your POS data into its database and generate Sales Conversion reports for your business.  It can also generate sales conversion comparison reports for multiple stores, or even, dieeferent shifts in the same store.  The system can perform counting (IN/OUT) for Occupancy Analysis and can be expanded for multiple door/entry points. Traffic Pro Enterprise is fully scalable and incorporates flexible data communications options to consolidate and analyse data from multiple remote locations using TCP/IP networks as well as file transfer systems. Application The Traffic Pro Enterprise software is designed for use in a Head Office, Centre Manager, Facility Manager, or Operations Manager office to read, retrieve and report on multiple remote locations. This solution allows management to observe, rank and compare a chain of stores or remote locations on various levels such as Traffic Store, Sales, and Sales Conversion. Communications between Head Office and remote locations is flexible withTCP/IP, Email, dialup and file transfer options available Client licenses to the Enterprise system are also available to allow managers and key staff to review and report on the statistics from their own desktop. Traffic Pro Enterprise V3, now has a new Automatic Reporting feature to allow you to set up reports and graphs to automatically run at a time you select. These reports are then able to be picked up by your email application and distruibuted to anyone in your business, saving you valuable time. This allows you to get a better understanding of the flow within your business. It also lets you make informed business decisions on items such as Store Layout and Merchandising to maximise your sales. The standard version of Traffic Pro Retail is designed for 4 entry points with a single user configuration. Have more than 4 entry points? No Problem! Traffic Pro Retail can be doubled to allow up to 8 entries.  If this is still not enough, you can upgrade to Traffic Pro Enterprise.  Extra entries are easy to install by even the most inexperienced user of Traffic Pro.  As your business grows, Traffic Pro will grow with you. Traffic Pro Foundation Traffic Pro Foundation is designed for use in retail stores that form part of a larger retail chain.  For some retailers, having the data centralised at their head office using Traffic Pro Enterprise, does not allow enough reporting for staff at store level. This is where Traffic Pro Foundation is useful. Traffic Pro Foundation allows staff at the retail store to get very basic reports on daily traffic numbers into their store. Traffic Pro Foundation only allows for Daily Reporting as this is the most useful information for Store Managers.   All other information such as Weekly and Monthly Reporting can be generated by the Traffic Pro Enterprise system at head office and sent out to the stores via email or regular mail. Traffic Pro Updates Downloads are provided to current Traffic Pro clients to maintain their software and systems on the latest releases. Software updates are free for all users of Beonic software as they include enhancements, service packs and patches. It is recommended that you take on Software Support Cover to obtain these updates automatically via CD in the post. We recommend you should subscribe to Beonic Updates to be notified about new releases and updates. Retail Why Count Store Traffic? The Retail Equation In every store, every day, the sales made can be expressed mathematically as: Traffic x Sales Conversion Rate x Average Transaction Value = Sales Traditionally, retailers measure and show the equation to be: Transaction Count x Average Transaction Value = Sales Transaction count is a blend between Traffic and Sales Conversion Rate. They can rise and fall independently. If, for example, the store receives a 10% increase in traffic from one period to the next, and a 10% decline in it's ability to close sales, there will be no net change, but in fact, there would be two important things happening that the retailer would be blind to. First, there would be a 10% improvement in the store's ability to attract customers. The marketing department is doing a great job, which is being hidden. An opportunity to duplicate these efforts could easily be lost.  Secondly, there is a decline in productivity, which, even if it were somehow noticed, would be blamed on a lack of traffic. There is an opportunity to improve productivity through setting objectives, better discipline, adjustments in staff scheduling, or other actions. Specific Determination of Sales Potential How much traffic do you need? Chances are, if you are located in a shopping mall, your stores sell to 20% or less of their traffic. Are you capable of selling 25% of your traffic? 30%? More? Without traffic counts, you have no way to see how well you are capitalising on your opportunities; whether or not you are more effective than a prior period, or to another store or group of stores. Chances are that in most stores, if you could close sales on just 2 more of every hundred people that enter your store, your sales increases will be huge. Further adjustments to advertising and merchandising could further improve your potential… all with the measurement of traffic being the catalyst for change. Traffic Flows and Buys in Predictable Patterns Traffic flows and buys in predictable patterns. Understanding these patterns, what impacts the patterns, (e.g. Holiday Shopping, Competition, Advertising, Mall Events, etc.) and what the impact on traffic is will help you in almost every area of store operations… from staffing, to inventory levels, sales promotion, and more. Staff Scheduling Understanding your store traffic enables you to staff using a relatively consistent ratio of staff to customers. Customers deserve and expect to be able to find help in your stores, even if you are self-serve. In most stores, the ration of staff to shoppers fluctuates wildly during the week, usually at extreme highs during the highest traffic periods, and during the periods when people are most apt to buy. Aligning staffing levels to more closely follow traffic patterns will enable better service availability, which almost always translates to greater sales. It also creates more consistent sales per staff hour ratio. Measure Advertising Effectiveness Advertising by itself can do one thing for your store… generate traffic. In many cases, if a promotion is "successful", the advertising takes the credit. There are many other factors, including staffing, pricing, merchandising, internal signage, and others. Being able to isolate the specific contribution of advertising will make your marketing department or advertising agency accountable to deliver an increase in traffic, and for your stores to do more with that traffic. It enables you to see just how much it costs for each new person you attract to the store, and how much of the promotion's success or failure is as a result of the media you buy. Eliminate Excuses "There was NO traffic!" How many times have you cringed when you heard this? Once you begin to measure traffic, this excuse, along with a number of others are eliminated. Either the traffic was there in the numbers you expected, or they weren't. You can compare both traffic and performance independently. If there was a change in traffic, it can be identified, in specific terms. More Accurate Budgeting Primarily, using the retail equation, above, there are three basic areas of accountability: Traffic - Marketing,  Sales Conversion Rate - Selling Floor / Store  Average Transaction Value - Merchandising Once you have comparative figures from a prior period, you can go to each of these three areas of opportunity, and get their input as to what they can deliver, and at what cost. From there you multiply the three factors for your budget. With a plan based on specific targets for traffic, Sales Conversion Rate and average sale, you can easily make your budget based on your performance. The sales become a result of your actions, not the cause of them. Open "Blind-Spots" in Conventional Retail Reporting Many currently retail indicators and statistics can cause blind spots. For example, Average Transaction Value can remain level even with a change in traffic volume. Transaction count can remain unchanged, even with a significant change in store traffic volume. Sales may go up, with no change in traffic volume. In each case, adding traffic related ratios: Traffic, Sales Conversion Rate, Performance on Traffic, Customer / Staff Ratio Will make the results more meaningful, and will tell a better story of what is REALLY happening in the store.
