About: This laser uses a brand new blue (not violet) Osram PL450B laser diode. This laser diode operates in single mode, meaning the beam is round and can literally go on for a mile. The Altoids housing was made with handheld grinding tools because its metal is too thin to cut with a machine. - Beam visible in dim areas - Cuts dark plastic - Pops dark balloons (colored with black/red marker) - Stings bare skin - Chars wood - Lights unmarked white matches Device Operation: - This laser has a small safety switch on the inside to prevent accidental use. The green LED means the laser is armed. - Laser driver set to 180mA. Laser estimated to produce no less than 120mw and no more than 125mw on full batteries. - Operates on 3x AAA batteries (4.5v). - 1.2v rechargeable batteries allow the laser to work at a lower power. - Open the lid and unscrew the lens with the flat of your finger by friction to focus the laser for burning. - If desired, use a screwdriver to unscrew the laser module from the black heatsink to change its position.
