About 10 years ago while Visiting Providence Rhode Island, I visited an old Brass Stamping Plant that was closing down. It was really a shame because as soon as I got there and saw the brass remnants on the floor I about lost my cookies. They had been Scrapping stuff left and right and even what was on the floor and what was still stuck in the cracks of the hundreds of wooden crates scattered around the building was amazing to me. The company had been in business for over 100 years and moved from Jewelry Findings to Police Badges. I was literally scaping things off of the floor and was able to find what amounted to 20 pounds from a bygone era of American manufacturing. These letters were probably my favorite find. I Really Lucked Out and found a shelving unit where these were scattered all over the place and I was fortunate enough to get a few pounds all told. They are Stamped Die Cut1" High Letters that look to be made so that they will slip into some type of a Channel to make Name Plates or Signs. At first I thought they were all Brass but I am pretty sure that some of them are Brass while Others are Copper. Its a pretty cool look actually between the Font that is used and the different Hues present between the different letters. They seem to be Stamped from a light to medium weight sheet and all of the letters are consistent in thickness and height. There are no markings on them to indicate age but I am guessing the 1920's or 30's. Sooooo ...... Up for Auction is a Lot of 104 Metal Letters . The Breakdown of letters is as follows:  A x 8, B x 5, C x 4, D x 3, E x 7, G x 5, H x 5, J x 2, K x 4, L x 7, M x 2, N x 4, O x 8, P x 4, R x 2, S x 8, T x 3, U x 2, V x 2, W x 5, Y x 5, Z x 6 plus BLANKS x 3. There are NONE of the following Letters: F, I, Q, or X. If you consider Scrabble Scoring, the Q and X are no big deal. You can easily take Tin Snips to an E to make an F if need be and there are many letters you could make an I out of. I Hope that someone other than myself finds these as COOL as they ARE and Chooses to give them a new home.
